Supporting Evidence

The level of supporting evidence describes the current state of research into the relationship between genetics and a specific medical outcome, such as a drug interaction or a predisposition for a specific risk. It has three different levels: strong, good, and limited.

Strong

The evidence for the relationship between the underlying genetics and the medical outcome is supported by consistent research studies published in reputable scientific journals.

Good

There is research evidence supporting a relationship between the underlying genetics and the medical outcome. However, the relationship is limited by the number, quality, or consistency of the research.

Limited

There is limited evidence supporting the relationship between the underlying genetics and the medical outcome. This can be due to several limitations of the research studies: a small amount of data, differences in results, or other limiting factors.
