ActX Brings Genomic Decision Support to eClinicalWorks

Bring the power of precision medicine to patient care with ActX Genomic Decision Support. Our turn-key approach focuses on Actionable Genomics: evidence-based genetic risks you can do something about. Check prescriptions automatically for adverse reactions, efficacy, and dosing, and tailor patient screening to their unique risks. We've partnered with eClinicalWorks to integrate these insights directly into your normal workflow.

Automatically check prescriptions against patient genetics

99% of patients carry one or more variants that affect medications. ActX helps you prescribe the right drug, notifying you while you are writing an Rx if there could be issues with adverse effects, efficacy or dosing based on the patient's genetics. Our service covers most U.S. drugs with sufficient evidence of genomic impact.

Access the patient’s Genomic Profile within eClinicalWorks

A patient's Genomic Profile includes a complete listing of potential drug-genome interactions, actionable hereditary risks, and carrier statuses for the patient – as well as complete decision support for each finding. The Genomic Profile can be accessed within the eClinicalWorks patient chart anytime. After you receive the initial analysis, ActX keeps patient profiles current with the latest genomic research. When new evidence becomes available, we update the Genomic Profile to ensure that clinicians are working with the latest information, notifying you in your inbox if there is a major change.

Identify actionable hereditary risks

By focusing on Actionable Genomics, ActX helps clinicians identify and understand their patients’ risks. ActX alerts physicians in their normal clinical inbox if actionable medical risks are found. For the 3-4% of patients with serious actionable risks, ActX provides a summary, suggestions for care, and supporting references. The patient’s genetic data is regularly reanalyzed as new research becomes available, and physicians will be notified if the analysis changes.

The ActX Service includes everything necessary to make genomics a routine part of health care. In addition to providing Genomic Decision Support, ActX offers simple saliva-based patient genotyping that can be ordered within eClinicalWorks.
