ActX Introduces Dosage and Route-Aware Clinical Alerting

ActX has released a new enhancement to its genomic decision support platform that uses information about medication dosage and route of administration to more precisely trigger clinical alerts which are actionable for clinicians.

This new functionality allows ActX to tailor drug–genomic interaction alerting based on the actual medication dosage and route, rather than relying only on the existence of a medication order. For example, if a medication is prescribed topically, the drug-genomic interaction may not be relevant. Or a drug-genomic interaction alert may be pertinent only at higher medication dosages. The impact of the enhancement is to reduce unnecessary alerting.

These alerts are fully customizable by the Health System.

This new feature is immediately available for providers using the Epic EHR, with other EHR availability coming in 2026.
