ActX adds personalized, customizable, patient specific recommendations for genetic testing
A new feature is available now within the ActX genomic service which alerts providers if a patient needs genetic testing, based on their medications and medical history.
Health Systems can tailor the alerts to specific patient criteria and provide genetic testing recommendations within normal EHR workflow.
Recommendations can be based on criteria such as new or current medications, the problem list, diagnoses, patient history, patient demographics, insurance and many other factors. Both the recommendations and the EHR workflow can be customized for each health system.
The new feature is intended to help providers better serve their patients and present actionable recommendations without disrupting clinical workflows or overwhelming physicians with excess alerts.
For patients who meet the selected criteria, and who have not yet been tested, the service will recommend which patients should undergo genetic testing for either pharmacogenomic or hereditary risk variants.
