ActX to provide Pharmacogenomic Interpretation for a GUIDE Dementia Care Initiative

ActX has entered into an agreement to provide dynamic pharmacogenomic reporting for thousands of patients participating in the GUIDE program.

GUIDE is a Medicare-funded initiative designed to help dementia patients remain safely at home longer through intensive medication management, coordinated care, and caregiver respite services.

As part of a large nationwide project starting in May 2026, through a collaboration between ActX and NavRx, the project will offer a new dimension in medication management for these still at home, early dementia patients. It will include the use of pharmacogenomics and metabolomics for all the project patients.

The program will incorporate pharmacogenomics into the intense medication management of this vulnerable patient population by Clinical Pharmacists. All enrolled patients will undergo pharmacogenetics testing. It will enable clinicians to incorporate patients' genetics into prescribing decisions.

ActX will provide dynamic pharmacogenomics reporting to help identify drug genomic interactions and other genomic insights that may impact medication effectiveness, safety, and adherence. These insights will support pharmacists and clinicians in optimizing medication regimens for this group of early dementia patients who often require complex treatment plans.

The Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) Model is a voluntary, nationwide model testing the impact of providing comprehensive services and supports for people with dementia and their caregivers. The model began on July 1, 2024, and will run for 8 years.
